Skiing in Italy - Skiing holidays in Arabba ski resort

Skiing in Italy is generally quite fantastic. The slopes are steep, the snow is plentiful and the resorts are full of superb hotels, restaurants and bars. Resorts in Cervinia, Champoluc, La Thuile and Livigno are all great options, though if you are really into your skiing you should check out Arabba

Europe is full of nice places to ski that have excellent kids’ clubs, intermediate runs and bunny slopes. Yet it can be quite difficult to find truly challenging pistes, even in some of the world’s biggest resorts. Arabba is the answer to this problem as it has some incredible challenging black runs from the majestic Porta Vescovo mountain.

If you are looking for something a bit tamer you should still be able to enjoy Arabba as there are quite a few red and blue runs around. The snow here is also generally very good so you can cruise around for hours without having to worry about ice or chaff.

Beyond the slopes, Arabba is a lovely village – it is much quieter than other European resorts and a great place to unwind at the end of a long day of skiing. The amenities are not extensive but you should be able to find everything you need in the shops, bars and restaurants located there. The food itself is delicious so be sure to sample some of the pasta and pizza. For those looking to take a break from skiing there is also an outdoor skating rink.

Arabba is a great place to go skiing in Italy: the snow is great, the slopes are challenging, and the village is lovely and calm. You certainly won’t regret visiting this resort, yet if you want something a bit more suited to intermediates and beginners, there are lots of other superb resorts in Italy which will work for you and your party perfectly.
